9. Booking and Service Agreement

Quotations provided by Removals Newcastle are estimates based on information provided by you. They are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. Final charges may vary based on actual items, access, weight, or time required. We reserve the right to update quotations if circumstances change.

9.2 Booking Confirmation

A booking is only confirmed when we send you a written confirmation (email or letter) containing the booking details, agreed price, and service date. A deposit of [X]% is required to secure your booking. This deposit is non-refundable unless we cancel.

9.3 Payment Terms

You are responsible for providing an accurate list of items to be moved. We are not liable for items not declared or items damaged due to improper packing. We recommend using our professional packing services for fragile or valuable items.

10. Insurance and Liability

10.1 Standard Coverage

Our standard removal service includes basic coverage for damage caused by our negligence during the move. This coverage is limited to the replacement value of the items, up to a maximum of [amount] per item or [total amount] total.

10.2 Additional Insurance

For valuable items, antiques, artwork, or items requiring special protection, we recommend purchasing additional insurance. This is available at an additional cost and covers accidental damage beyond our standard coverage.

10.3 Exclusions

11. Access and Delays

The customer is responsible for ensuring adequate access at both pickup and delivery locations. This includes:

  • Ensuring parking is available for our vehicles
  • Providing access to the property at the agreed time
  • Informing us of any access restrictions (narrow stairs, low ceilings, etc.)
  • Arranging for building permits or permissions if required

If access is restricted or delays occur due to factors beyond our control, we reserve the right to charge additional fees on a time-and-materials basis.

12. Special Items and Restrictions

We cannot transport:

  • Hazardous materials, explosives, or flammable items
  • Perishable goods or food items
  • Live animals
  • Illegal items or stolen goods
  • Items containing asbestos
  • Highly valuable items (jewelry, cash) unless declared and insured

Special items such as pianos, safes, or artwork may incur additional charges and require separate agreements.

13. Customer Responsibilities

The customer agrees to:

  • Provide accurate moving information and contact details
  • Ensure access to the property at the scheduled time
  • Pack items appropriately or use our packing services
  • Provide accurate documentation of valuable items
  • Arrange for utilities disconnection if required
  • Remove all personal items before the move
  • Treat our staff with respect and provide a safe working environment

14. Storage Services

If you use our storage services:

  • Storage fees are charged on a monthly basis and must be paid in advance
  • Items must be insurable and in compliance with storage facility regulations
  • Access to stored items is available only during business hours by appointment
  • Items left in storage for more than 12 months may be subject to disposal
  • We maintain security, but are not liable for theft or damage beyond our reasonable care

15. Claims and Disputes

15.1 Damage Claims

Any damage must be reported in writing within 30 days of delivery. You must provide photographic evidence and provide the item for inspection. Claims submitted after 30 days will not be accepted.

We will investigate all legitimate claims and make a settlement offer within 45 days. If you are not satisfied with our offer, you may escalate to our management or pursue legal action.

  • Stairs, hallways, and doorways must be clear and accessible
  • Pets must be secured in a separate room during the move
  • We reserve the right to refuse service if conditions are unsafe
  • Our staff follow strict health and safety protocols

  • Harass, abuse, or threaten other users or our staff
